D. Bates Blades – ProCut Cleaver

Built by D. Bates Blades, this compact cleaver combines a stout ProCut blade with a thick, comfortable Classic Orange GripX™ handle. At only 7.5 inches overall, it offers a substantial 0.1605-inch blade and 5.7-ounce weight in a compact package.

The ProCut blade is heat treated to approximately 60–62 HRC for a balance of edge retention, toughness, and performance. Classic Orange GripX™ rubber-and-resin composite scales provide a secure, comfortable grip and are permanently mounted with stainless steel Corby bolts.

Each knife is individually sharpened and tested using the BESS (Brubacher Edge Sharpness Scale) system. This knife produced three verified test results of 90, 100, and 100 BESS, for an average of approximately 97 BESS.
